Lars Eng, President and CEO
Dr. Lars Eng has been Silicon Light Machines’ Chief Executive Officer since October 2011. He joined the company in 2005 and has held positions as Senior Director of Systems Engineering and Vice president of Engineering and Business development. Dr. Eng brings to the job more than 15 years of designing and delivering optical and electronic components and subsystems to the telecommunications, industrial, and consumer markets.
Prior to joining Silicon Light Machines, Dr. Eng held engineering director positions at Finisar and AT&T Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies. He holds a PhD in applied physics from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, and an MS in electrical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
Ken Fukui, SVP of Operations
Ken Fukui joined Silicon Light Machines in 2005, bringing with him 25 years of engineering project management, offshore manufacturing startup, and manufacturing operations experience. As vice president of operations for Silicon Light Machines, he works on several fronts to integrate GLV technology into customer products. Part of that work includes developing strategic plans to transfer manufacturing to key subcontracting partners while ensuring customer commitments and quality are maintained. To do this, Mr. Fukui harnesses his long experience working with vendors in the Far East.
Mr. Fukui hails from Intel, where he was director of the optical products division. Before that he built up the manufacturing operation of LightLogic. He also has director-level management experience at Seagate Technology, IBM and Komag, Inc. Mr. Fukui earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California in Los Angeles and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Santa Clara, California.
Cindy Lott, Director of Finance
Since joining Silicon Light Machines in 2002 as the company’s top managerial and financial accountant, Cindy has been responsible for all of the company’s accounting operations. She also assists management in interpreting and using account information to support the company’s continuing success as a leading technology innovator. Ms. Lott joined the Silicon Light Machines team from her role as senior accounting manager at Cypress Semiconductor. Previously, she managed the financial planning and analysis operations group for C-Cube Microsystems. Prior to that, she held increasingly responsible financial management positions at ITT Cannon, Birtcher Medical Systems and Aeroscientific. Ms. Lott is a Certified Management Accountant and holds a B.S. in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from California State University of Long Beach.
