Silicon Light Machines Reacquires the Rights to Grating Light Valve™ Technology for Display Applications

Products Targeted at Large-Venue Display Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept 30, 2009 – Silicon Light Machines, a subsidiary of Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Screen), today announced that it has reacquired the rights to market its patented Grating Light Valve™ (GLV™ ) technology for display applications. Since July 2000 Silicon Light Machines has been developing and supplying GLV based products for use in computer-to-plate printing and a variety of direct write lithography applications. Ultra-high resolution, high imaging speed, and high reliability are key attributes that have made GLV the spatial light modulator of choice for high-performance applications.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer GLV products to customers in the display market,” said Hal Zarem, CEO of Silicon Light Machines. “Our current products are ideally suited for a variety of large-venue projection display applications, and we see potential for GLV technology in pico-projectors, near-to-eye displays, and other emerging display markets.” About Silicon Light Machines
